Hyderabad: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu, IPS, on Friday emphasised the need for early detection and preventive care as the department conducted the second round of its free mega health camp for personnel.
Held at Amberpet Police Headquarters, the latest camp covered officers from Amberpet, LB Nagar, and Maheshwaram zones. It follows a similar initiative in May for Malkajgiri zone staff. The Commissioner urged all personnel to prioritise health and seek treatment at the earliest sign of illness.
Medical teams from Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital, Medicover Hospitals, Dr. Agarwal’s Eye Hospital, and Soujanya Dental participated. Dr. Kalpana led awareness sessions on cancer, while Dr. Suresh Reddy briefed attendees on cardiovascular health and preventive measures. Special screenings were conducted for women officers to aid early cancer detection.
The medical camp will continue tomorrow. Senior officers including DCPs Usha Rani (Women Safety), Srinivasulu (Traffic), Shyam Sundar (Headquarters), and RKSC Chief Coordinator Savitri were present. Doctors Saritha and Achyuta Rao, along with police officers’ union representatives C.H. Bhadrareddy and Krishna Reddy, also attended.
