Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, in collaboration with the Rachakonda Security Council (RKSC), conducted a session on the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) procedures to raise awareness about workplace safety and women’s rights.
Held on Friday, the session aimed to promote inclusive and safe working environments, improve understanding of POSH compliance, and encourage organizations to adopt best practices in handling harassment complaints.
Commissioner G. Sudheer Babu, who chairs RKSC, stressed the importance of eliminating workplace discrimination against women. He urged organisations to empower aggrieved women and take decisive action in genuine cases. He reaffirmed the police’s commitment to supporting victims through legal and procedural assistance.

The Women Safety Wing’s DCP explained the role of SHE Teams and outlined how cases would be investigated based on evidence. She highlighted the need for clear protocols in handling incidents of varying severity.
Padmavati from Sakhi One Stop Centre, Medchal, gave a comprehensive presentation on POSH guidelines, the structure and responsibilities of ICCs, and the functioning of Local Complaint Committees. Representatives from companies including Infosys, TCS, AIIMS, BITS Pilani, and several manufacturing and IT firms attended the session.
The programme concluded with a discussion on cross-sector collaboration for safer workplaces. RKSC’s Women Forum leaders Dr. Radhikanath, Savitri, Karadi Siva, and Chandrashekar also participated in the event.
