Hyderabad: A ragging incident at AIIMS Mangalagiri in Andhra Pradesh triggered concern after details emerged late about the alleged harassment of a student from Tirupati.
The incident occurred on June 22, when senior students allegedly harassed the victim, who later filed a formal complaint with college authorities.
Acting on the complaint, the administration temporarily suspended 15 students and set up a special committee to probe the matter. Officials said further action would follow after the inquiry report.
Meanwhile, Mangalagiri Rural Police questioned the AIIMS administration over why the incident was not promptly shared with them. The AIIMS management clarified that an email intimation had been sent to the police station on the same day.
