Ragging at Nizamabad medical college

Hyderabad: A ragging case at Nizamabad Government Medical College has triggered outrage after a junior student was attacked by senior-year students. A video of the assault circulated widely, intensifying demands for action.

The victim, Rahul Reddy, has allegedly faced harassment since his first year of MBBS. Despite repeated abuse, he continued attending classes and clinical postings.

Student repeatedly harassed, latest attack caught on video

On the day of the assault, Rahul reported for his posting, while another student, Sai Ram Pavan, remained absent. During that time, senior-year students confronted Rahul and beat him, citing ragging as a pretext.

According to student sources, this was not an isolated attack. Rahul had been harassed multiple times since joining the course, but the latest incident escalated into severe physical violence.

The video sparked anger among students and the public. Many demanded strict disciplinary action against the accused and stronger enforcement of anti-ragging measures in medical colleges.
