HYDERABAD: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has stated that Rahul Gandhi is now prioritising the strengthening of the Congress party’s structure from the grassroots level. He said the party has resolved to empower its base and reinforce its organisational network right from the booth-level committees.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday after attending the All India Congress Committee (AICC) meeting held in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, Bhatti Vikramarka highlighted that the decision was taken to build the party from the ground up. The meeting was also attended by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, Ministers Duddilla Sridhar Babu, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, Seethakka, Jupally Krishna Rao, Tummala Nageshwar Rao, and former MLA Sampath Kumar Goud.
Vikramarka welcomed Rahul Gandhi’s remarks on conducting a caste census in Telangana, stating that such an initiative aligns with the Congress’s ideology of equitable distribution of resources. He said the party stands for sharing the nation’s wealth and opportunities equally among all sections of society.
He emphasised that the Congress is moving forward with the spirit of the Dandi Satyagraha, aiming to send a renewed message to the country from the banks of the Sabarmati. As part of the plenary, the party introduced the “Nyay Path”, a political direction inspired by justice and equality.
Highlighting the importance of the caste census, he called it a historic and visionary move aimed at making all social and economic resources more accessible and inclusive. He noted that Rahul Gandhi has consistently advocated for strong grassroots party-building, and that vision is now being actively implemented.
He further explained that the party has resolved to empower district-level Congress leadership, giving district presidents greater responsibility in leading and deciding on local political strategies. Each district unit will spearhead local programmes and function as the primary decision-making body, with immediate implementation expected.
