HYDERABAD: Railway Police Superintendent Chandana Deepti met the 26-year-old woman injured in the MMTS train attempted rape incident and disclosed crucial case details. The incident occurred on Sunday evening aboard an MMTS train from Secunderabad to Medchal.
According to Deepti, the woman boarded the ladies’ compartment of the train along with two other women. The co-passengers got down at Alwal station, leaving the victim alone. Following their departure, a male passenger allegedly approached the woman, forcibly held her, and tried to convince her to accompany him to his room.
Fearing for her safety, the woman pretended to comply, hoping to escape. However, as the threat continued, she jumped from the moving train near Alwal station, sustaining serious injuries. She lost consciousness and was later admitted to Gandhi Hospital, where she regained consciousness. She is currently undergoing treatment and is stated to be out of danger.
Based on the information provided by the victim, four special police teams have been constituted to identify and apprehend the suspect in the MMTS train attempted rape case.
