Hyderabad: To manage festive crowds and reduce queues at counters, South Central Railway (SCR) has urged passengers to use the Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) app for booking unreserved, platform, and season tickets.
As part of a promotional drive, SCR staff at key stations including Secunderabad, Kacheguda, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal, Tirupati, and Nanded will wear reflective jackets bearing QR codes. Passengers can scan these to access the UTS or Rail One apps and complete bookings. Railway staff will also guide users on app usage.
With relaxed distance restrictions, passengers can now book tickets from home or any location at least five meters away from station premises or tracks. The UTS app supports multiple languages and allows paperless digital transactions via UPI, Paytm, R-Wallet, and internet banking. Users booking through R-Wallet will also receive a 3% bonus.
SCR stated that the initiative will enable faster, cashless ticketing and enhance passenger convenience during the festive season.
