HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Raja Singh has accused All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi of misleading the public by organising rallies, and challenged him to speak truthfully about the Waqf Act amendment if he truly has the courage.
Raja Singh alleged that Owaisi himself is responsible for the sale of Waqf properties and asserted that the government’s recent amendment to the Waqf Act was intended to safeguard these properties. He warned that opposing the law could prove politically damaging for the AIMIM.
He further stated that Owaisi is fully aware of the actual provisions of the amended Waqf Act, but is deliberately withholding the truth from the public. According to Singh, Owaisi is avoiding discussion of the key aspects of the legislation because it would expose his contradictions.
“If the AIMIM truly cares about the welfare of Muslims, they should disclose the full details of the law to the public,” Singh said.
He also cautioned that choosing to protest the Waqf Act amendment could backfire politically for the AIMIM, given that the new law is aimed at protecting community properties.
Raja Singh emphasised that the BJP remains committed to safeguarding minority properties and said no false propaganda will deter the party from this mission.
