Hyderabad: Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday, urging him to shift focus from attacking opponents to governing effectively.
Addressing the media in Hyderabad, Rajagopal Reddy asked the Chief Minister to explain what his government had achieved so far. He alleged that under the guise of development, at least 20 contractors from Andhra Pradesh were looting public funds unchecked.
Rajagopal Reddy claimed that the Congress high command promised him a ministerial post when he rejoined from the BJP. However, he said the offer still remained unfulfilled. He pointed out that Revanth Reddy had only three and a half years left in office, and leadership beyond that would depend on future developments.
He insisted that Congress came to power through a collective effort, not individual charisma. Referring to Revanth’s changing tone toward social media influencers, he said, “Loyal before crossing the river, hostile after,” implying opportunism.
Rajagopal Reddy clarified that his ministerial demand had no link to his brother, MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. The promise, he said, came directly from AICC leaders.
He also took aim at BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao for skipping Assembly sessions. “If KCR doesn’t want to attend, he should resign,” he said.
He accused BRS of being paralysed by frustration after losing power. He said the government had failed to make any decisions on the Kaleshwaram project due to internal confusion. Had he joined BRS, he claimed, KCR “would have given him a ministerial berth long ago.”
