Hyderabad: A youth stabbed and killed a man who was living with his mother, police said, in the Rajendranagar murder case that unfolded on Wednesday evening.
The victim, identified as Yasir, 28, lived in an apartment in Upperpally Fort View Colony within the Rajendranagar police limits. He worked as a journalist on a YouTube channel and reportedly cohabited with a 40-year-old woman who also lived in the same building.
According to police, the woman’s estranged husband frequently quarreled with her after learning she lived with another man. Meanwhile, the woman’s son learned of her relationship and, on Wednesday, saw her with Yasir.
In a fit of anger, the son attacked Yasir with a knife. Yasir suffered severe bleeding and died at the scene, police said.
Locals who found Yasir lying in a pool of blood alerted Rajendranagar police. Officers reached the site, collected evidence with the CLUES team, and moved the body to hospital for postmortem.
Police registered a case and said they had taken the accused into custody. Investigators were continuing their probe into the motive and the sequence of events.
