Hyderabad: On the 34th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, floral tributes were paid at his statue in Manikesav Nagar by Greater Hyderabad Deputy Mayor Mote Srilatha Shobhan Reddy and Telangana Trade Union Congress (TTUC) state president Mote Shobhan Reddy.
Marking the solemn occasion, Deputy Mayor Srilatha recalled Rajiv Gandhi’s transformative contributions to India’s development. She noted that his vision for IT revolution, empowerment of the panchayati raj system, and focus on youth and technology laid the foundation for India’s modern economic and technological landscape.
Speaking at the event, TTUC state president Shobhan Reddy lauded Gandhi’s bold leadership and deep faith in the youth. “Rajiv Gandhi’s courage and commitment to empowering young people distinguished him from his contemporaries. His legacy continues to guide future generations,” he said.
The event saw participation from senior Congress leaders, women’s wing representatives, youth leaders, party workers, and local residents, who gathered in large numbers to honour the memory of the late leader.
