Hyderabad: Rashtrapati Nilayam in Hyderabad will offer free entry to athletes on August 29 and to teachers on September 5, officials announced.
The initiative, tied to National Sports Day, will allow athletes and sports enthusiasts to visit the Presidential estate at no cost. To gain entry, they must show a government ID or a valid certificate proving participation in national or international sports.
“This special gesture has been arranged in recognition of the contribution of sports persons to the nation,” said Rajini Priya, an officer at the Rashtrapati Nilayam.
Rashtrapati Nilayam free entry extended to teachers
On September 5, Teachers’ Day, teachers and their families will also receive free access. Officials said the move aims to honour educators and let them experience the cultural and historical value of the retreat.
The Rashtrapati Nilayam, located in Bolarum, is one of three official retreats of the President of India. The estate features colonial architecture, landscaped gardens, and exhibitions tracing India’s political history.
Officials urged the public to use the opportunity. They believe it could inspire families and youth to engage more deeply with the country’s democratic heritage.
