Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s assertion that he will remain in power for the next ten years has drawn sharp criticism from Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy.
Addressing a public meeting at Jataprolu village in Pentlavelli mandal, Nagarkurnool district on Friday, Revanth declared his intent to lead the state for the next decade. The comments came during a high-profile event held on July 18.
Reacting on social media platform X, Munugode MLA Rajgopal Reddy hit back, calling the statement contrary to Congress party values. He said that in a national party like the Congress, the Chief Minister is chosen democratically as per the high command’s direction, not through personal proclamations.
Rajgopal Reddy, who has been visibly discontented over being denied a cabinet berth, accused Revanth Reddy of attempting to turn Telangana Congress into a personal empire. He warned that true Congress leaders and workers would not tolerate such deviations.
