Hyderabad: Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday blamed former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao for causing “irreparable damage” to Telangana’s river water resources and said farmers would not forgive the injustice.
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Revanth accused the previous BRS government of mishandling major irrigation projects and reiterated his demand for a CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project and the phone tapping case.
He alleged that Union Minister Kishan Reddy was shielding the former chief minister and questioned why the central government had not acted on corruption in Kaleshwaram. “All central investigative agencies are in their hands, so Kishan Reddy might think it will be easy,” he remarked.
Revanth dismissed personal animosity with KCR but called him a political opponent whose actions harmed Telangana. He also questioned BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao’s alleged midnight meeting with Andhra Pradesh minister Nara Lokesh, demanding to know its purpose.
Targeting KTR, the Chief Minister claimed the BRS working president was surrounded by drug users and made references to the death of KTR’s associate Kedar in Dubai, allegedly due to drug use.
He said he would not engage in discourse with “those who clean bathrooms,” taking a swipe at KTR, and mocked former minister Jagdish Reddy as knowing only how to “mix soda in liquor.”
Revanth said the phone tapping investigation was progressing swiftly and warned that no member of the KCR family would be spared. He also accused the BJP-led Centre of obstructing state efforts to expose corruption.
The Chief Minister announced plans to visit Maharashtra for the Tummidihatti project and reaffirmed his commitment to creating one lakh jobs within two and a half years.
