Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday launched a fierce attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, demanding immediate assent to the BC quota bill. He warned that if the Centre failed to act, the people would secure 42% OBC reservation and remove Modi from office.
Speaking at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, Revanth said the demand for reservation had moved beyond Telangana and was now a national issue. He cited Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s promise of a caste-based census and OBC reservation as a firm commitment. “Anyone who defies that promise is writing their own political death warrant in Telangana,” he said.
Revanth insisted the Centre must clear Telangana’s ordinance and the BC quota bill. “If you don’t come to us, we’ll make you walk our streets—and we will block your path,” he declared.
He slammed BJP and BRS leaders, including K. Chandrashekar Rao, Bandi Sanjay, G. Kishan Reddy, and Ramchander Rao. “They are no challenge to us. Our real fight is with Modi and his government,” he said.
Revanth accused Modi of obstructing OBC rights without justification. “We are not asking for Gujarat’s land or water. We are asking for 42% OBC quota in Telangana. Why does that upset you?” he asked.
He warned that if the NDA government rejected the bill, the Congress would hoist the national flag at Red Fort and install Rahul Gandhi as Prime Minister. “We will not back down without 42% OBC reservation,” he vowed.
Revanth questioned Modi’s authority to reject a bill passed unanimously by the Telangana Assembly. “Who gave him the right to overrule four crore voices?” he said, calling Modi “anti-BC” and uninterested in OBC justice.
He ridiculed BJP leaders Bandi Sanjay and Ramchander Rao, saying they no longer mattered. He also mocked BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, calling his party’s stance on OBCs hypocritical. “One supports OBCs, another opposes them, and the third claims neutrality. Is that your standard?” he asked.
Revanth claimed Modi’s government had enforced a 50% cap to block an OBC census, while KCR had passed a weak law. “The Telangana model is now the country’s role model,” he said, declaring that Congress would oust Modi by 2029 under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership.
He cited BJP MP Nishikant Dubey’s warning that the party couldn’t win 150 seats without Modi. “Write this down: we won’t let BJP win even one extra seat in Modi’s name,” he said.
