Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will review the Telangana Gig Workers Bill, 2025 at the Secretariat today ahead of its planned introduction in the Assembly. The session is scheduled for 3 p.m.
The proposed legislation seeks to establish a legal welfare architecture for gig economy workers, mandating aggregator platforms to contribute to a state-managed welfare fund. Provisions include social security benefits backed by the state and enforceable compliance by digital platforms. The draft bill was recently circulated for public comments.
A separate session at 5 p.m. will bring together all district collectors to assess kharif crop performance. Officials are expected to present updates on fertiliser supply, particularly urea distribution, soil health testing coverage, and measures to prevent seasonal disease outbreaks affecting crops and farm labour.
The Chief Minister will also review the status of new ration card distribution, a scheme rolled out earlier this month targeting eligible households across the state.
Cabinet ministers and senior administrative officials will participate in both briefings.
