Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has stirred up a political firestorm with a blistering critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sparking an immediate backlash from the BJP.
At the ‘Jai Hind Sabha’ on Thursday, Revanth didn’t hold back. He accused Modi of unilaterally enforcing a ceasefire with Pakistan, despite what he described as a national mood bristling for military retaliation. “Citizens and soldiers were ready to crush Pakistan, but the Modi government poured cold water on that fire,” he said. He went further, alleging that Modi had “mortgaged the self-respect of 140 crore Indians to US President Donald Trump.”
The BJP’s Telangana unit hit back within hours. From its official X handle, the party mocked the CM: “A man who thinks fighter jets are toys sold beside Dilsukhnagar roads shouldn’t be talking about Rafale. Even a first-grader would laugh.”
Union Minister and BJP Telangana president Kishan Reddy also weighed in, accusing the Congress of a pattern of undermining India’s military. “From Rahul Gandhi to Revanth Reddy, Congress leaders never miss a chance to insult our armed forces,” he posted on X, invoking past Congress skepticism over the surgical strikes.
“Congress leaders have made it a habit to echo the language of India’s adversaries,” Reddy said, slamming the party for what he called “cheap, divisive politics” that endanger national unity.
The war of words has once again deepened the rift between the two rivals in Telangana, hinting at a long and bitter season of political clashes as national debates loom.
Congress – From their leader Rahul Gandhi to their CM Revanth Reddy are demeaning our brave armed forces day in and day out.
Not the first time Congress and its leaders are resorting to cheap and dirty politics, not the first time they have questioned and doubted the surgical…
