Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday thanked AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi for supporting Justice B. Sudershan Reddy as the Vice-Presidential candidate of the INDIA bloc.
Taking to platform X, Revanth Reddy wrote, “Thank you, Asaduddin Owaisi Bhai, for stepping up to support Justice Sudershan Reddy as Vice President in this initiative for the common national interest.”
Owaisi confirmed his party’s backing after Revanth personally requested AIMIM to support Justice Reddy. In his response, Owaisi stated that Justice Sudershan Reddy is a respected jurist and a fellow Hyderabadi. “AIMIM will support Justice Reddy. I also spoke to him and conveyed our best wishes,” Owaisi said.
Justice B. Sudershan Reddy, a former Supreme Court judge, has been nominated by the INDIA alliance for the post of Vice President. The election is scheduled for September 9.
While AIMIM is not part of the INDIA bloc, Owaisi remains its sole MP in the Lok Sabha. Revanth Reddy also urged all political parties in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to support Sudershan Reddy’s candidacy.
