HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has approached the High Court seeking a legal review of several questionable and controversial decisions made during the final months of the previous BRS government. He has requested the court to scrutinise these decisions and annul those found to involve irregularities.
The petition challenges various government contracts, land allotments, and financial approvals allegedly rushed through during the last phase of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s tenure. Reddy claimed these actions were taken in haste for electoral gains and had no relevance to public welfare.
The plea further alleges that some agreements were finalised without tenders, transparency, or cabinet approval, resulting in significant losses to the state exchequer. The Chief Minister has urged the court to suspend such contracts and appoint a judicial committee to investigate them.
The High Court has accepted the petition for preliminary hearing and has sought a response from the state’s Chief Secretary. The case is expected to add a new dimension to Telangana’s political landscape and could pose a legal challenge for the BRS leadership.
While supporters view Revanth Reddy’s move as a step towards transparent governance, the opposition has dismissed it as political vendetta. The matter is likely to see further developments in the court’s upcoming hearings.
