Hyderabad: MRPS founder Manda Krishna Madiga accused Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of defrauding pensioners in Telangana, charging the Congress government with failing to implement its pre-election promises even 19 months into its term.
Speaking at a district meeting of disabled and Aasara pensioners in Amangal, Ranga Reddy district, the MRPS founder said the government had pledged ₹6,000 for disabled persons and ₹4,000 for Aasara beneficiaries immediately upon assuming office. He said the delay amounted to betrayal.
He alleged the government had diverted ₹20,000 crore meant for pensioners, citing a monthly shortfall of ₹1,000 crore. “The funds owed to the poor are being rerouted,” he claimed during the event organised by the Disability Rights Struggle Committee.
Krishna called on pensioners across the state to join a mass rally titled ‘Pensioners’ Garjana’ on August 13 in Hyderabad.
