HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has expressed deep sorrow over the death of 26 tourists in the Pahalgam terror attack, which occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Kashmir’s Pahalgam area, leaving the nation in shock.
Revanth Reddy, who was on an official visit to Japan, returned to Hyderabad on Wednesday night. On Thursday morning, he convened an emergency meeting at the city’s Command Control Centre. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chief Minister, Congress functionaries, state ministers, MPs, and MLAs.
Telangana government’s stance on the Pahalgam terror attack
During the meeting, Reddy described the attack as a heinous crime against humanity. The Congress party also strongly condemned the incident, observing a two-minute silence in memory of the victims. The Chief Minister instructed officials to take immediate steps for the safe return of all Telangana citizens currently in Kashmir.

The attack occurred during the visit of the US Vice President to India, prompting widespread international condemnation. The United States, Russia, France, the United Kingdom, and the United Nations all expressed solidarity with India and condemned the violence.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that he would cut short his visit to Saudi Arabia and return to Delhi immediately to assess the situation. Revanth Reddy called on the Centre to take decisive action against terrorism to safeguard national security.
The Telangana government has pledged full support to the families of the victims and directed state officials to ensure the prompt evacuation of all citizens stranded in Kashmir.
