Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has alleged large-scale corruption in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, blaming the previous BRS government for mismanagement. He announced a thorough investigation into the irregularities.
HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has made strong allegations of corruption in the execution of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. Speaking at an event, he accused the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government of mishandling the project, leading to significant financial and technical issues.
Revanth Reddy criticized the project’s design and execution, stating that what was intended to benefit Telangana’s farmers has instead become a financial burden due to mismanagement and inflated costs. He alleged that former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his administration prioritized commissions over the state’s welfare.
The Chief Minister assured that his government would conduct a thorough investigation into the irregularities and take necessary legal action against those responsible. He also emphasized the need for an alternative approach to ensure that the project serves its intended purpose efficiently.
