Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy led the 79th Independence Day celebrations at Golconda Fort on Friday by hoisting the national flag and addressing the state.
The official programme started at 10 a.m. with a police parade. Revanth Reddy accepted the guard of honour before speaking to dignitaries and attendees. State ministers, MLAs, senior officials, students, and members of the public attended the event.
DCP Chandramohan of the South West Zone and ACP Syed Fayaz supervised security operations. They managed crowd movement and implemented safety measures across the venue.
Revanth Reddy to honour 25 with medals for public service
Later in the ceremony, Revanth Reddy will present medals to 25 individuals for exemplary service across departments. Authorities selected the recipients based on their notable contributions over the past year.
Officials deployed additional personnel around Golconda Fort ahead of the Chief Minister’s arrival. They regulated guest entry and monitored traffic to maintain smooth proceedings.

As the ceremony continues, Revanth Reddy is expected to deliver a public address outlining his government’s priorities for Telangana.
