Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday pledged government housing support for families in Kamareddy whose homes were destroyed by severe flooding following heavy rainfall.
CM reviews flood-hit villages and damaged infrastructure
Revanth Reddy visited several flood-affected areas in Kamareddy district. At Budigida village, he inspected damaged agricultural fields. He also assessed the collapsed bridge near Lingampet village and instructed officials to draft a reconstruction plan immediately.
At GR Colony and Housing Board Colony within Kamareddy municipality, he personally examined the damaged roads and civic infrastructure.
Ministers Seethakka and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, Kamareddy MLA Madan Mohan Rao, and Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir accompanied him during the visit.
Aid for students, farmers and local infrastructure
Revanth Reddy assured flood-affected residents that the government would resolve every issue they face. “Kamareddy is like my own constituency,” he said, pledging long-term support.
He announced that students studying in private schools would receive assistance if the floods disrupted their education. The government will allocate CSR funds received from companies directly to those in need.
Calling the situation unprecedented, he said the floods were the worst in a century. He credited the Pocharam project with helping to limit further damage.
To support the agriculture sector, Revanth Reddy promised swift financial assistance to farmers once crop damage reports are finalized.
