HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has extended a warm invitation to Japanese industrialists and business leaders to invest in the rapidly developing state, positioning Telangana as a viable ‘China Plus One’ alternative for global investors.

Speaking at a seminar held at Hotel Imperial in Tokyo, titled “India–Japan Relations: Focus on Telangana, Opportunities for Japanese Investment,” the Chief Minister highlighted the state’s investment potential across multiple sectors. More than 150 Japanese industry leaders attended the event.

Revanth Reddy described Telangana as India’s newest and fastest-growing state, welcoming Japanese businesses to be part of its growth story. He said, “Japan is known as the land of the rising sun. Our slogan is ‘Telangana Rising’—and today, Telangana is rising in Japan.”

He praised Tokyo’s urban development, infrastructure, environmental practices, and the disciplined culture of its people, noting that HYDERABAD: had drawn inspiration from Tokyo in many areas of its own development.

The Chief Minister encouraged Japanese investors to explore sectors such as life sciences, electronics, electric vehicles, textiles, AI data centres, and logistics. He assured them that the Telangana government offers world-class infrastructure, skilled human resources, and sustainable policy support.

He emphasised the need for India and Japan to work together to build a brighter future for the world.

India’s Ambassador to Japan, C.B. George, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the growing economic ties between the two countries. Toshihiro Mizutani, Director General of JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) Bengaluru, expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with Telangana.

During the event, promotional videos showcased Telangana’s upcoming Future City—India’s first net-zero industrial city being developed in Hyderabad—and the state’s Musi River rejuvenation project.

Principal Secretary for IT and Industries, Jayesh Ranjan, presented detailed investment opportunities in sectors including electronics, artificial intelligence, electric mobility, textiles, and green energy.

Following the roadshow, the Telangana delegation held meetings with representatives of several major Japanese companies to explore future collaborations.
