HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended a warm and personal invitation to Japanese investors during a high-level investment roadshow held at Hotel Imperial, Tokyo, as part of the India-Japan Economic Partnership initiative. The event, organised under the TelanganaRising banner, highlighted the state’s dynamic industrial ecosystem and called on Japanese businesses to explore growth opportunities in Telangana.
Addressing over 150 participants from Japan’s business community, the Chief Minister said, “Come to Telangana, find your China +1 alternative. Invest, thrive, grow, and succeed. Hyderabad will feel like home.”
Beginning his keynote with a culturally resonant greeting, he said, “Konnichiwa, Tokyo. Namaskaram. I bring warm greetings from my people in Telangana, India’s youngest and fastest developing state. Japan is called the Land of the Rising Sun. Our state’s vision is TelanganaRising. Today, I am proud to say – Telangana is Rising in the Land of the Rising Sun.”
Praising Tokyo’s development, he added, “I am very happy to be in Tokyo. Your city is great, with excellent infrastructure, focus on environment and sustainability, and innovation. People of Japan are kind, respectful and disciplined. I have learnt many things from Tokyo for developing my city of Hyderabad.”
The event commenced with remarks by Sibi George, Ambassador of India to Japan, who underlined the strengthening Indo-Japan economic ties. Toshihiro Mizutani, Director General of JETRO, Bangalore, also addressed the gathering and encouraged deeper collaboration with Telangana.
Two promotional videos were launched during the event, showcasing the state’s flagship initiatives: Future City, India’s first planned net-zero industrial city, and the Musi Riverfront Rejuvenation Project, one of the country’s largest riverfront development programmes.
Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary of Industries and Commerce, Government of Telangana, presented key investment opportunities across sectors including electronics, artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, textiles, and green energy.
Revanth Reddy, in his keynote, reiterated Telangana’s commitment to providing world-class infrastructure, skilled human resources, and transparent policies. “We offer support for your investments in several priority sectors like life sciences, global capability centres (GCCs), electronics, EV and energy storage, textiles, food processing, AI data centres, and logistics. Let us build something extraordinary – for India, Japan, and the world,” he said.
The roadshow concluded with multiple one-on-one meetings between the Telangana delegation and senior executives from Japan’s top business conglomerates, underlining the state’s push to forge long-term, sustainable, and innovation-driven partnerships.
