Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has ordered a full investigation into the massive fire that ripped through Gulzar Houz in the Old City, leaving 17 dead. He demanded that officials trace the exact cause and implement steps to stop such tragedies in future.
Revanth Reddy, who monitored rescue operations in real time, called top police and fire officials soon after receiving reports of the incident. He directed ministers and senior officers present in Hyderabad to rush to the site and oversee medical support for those injured in the Gulzar Houz fire.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar and IG Nagi Reddy were briefed by the Chief Minister, who urged them to shift the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. He also spoke directly with the victims’ families, offering condolences and state support.
The government has announced ₹5 lakh ex-gratia to each bereaved family.
Revanth Reddy praised the swift action of the fire services, crediting them with rescuing 50 people from the blaze and preventing an even greater death toll. He said their quick intervention was instrumental in saving lives.
