Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid rich tributes to Chakali Ailamma on her death anniversary, hailing her as a fearless fighter who raised the banner of revolt against oppression and feudal atrocities.
Revanth Reddy pays homage to Chakali Ailamma in Delhi
At his residence in Delhi, the Chief Minister garlanded Ailamma’s portrait and recalled her pivotal role in the Telangana armed struggle. He said Ailamma sounded the bugle against feudal arrogance and tyranny over 80 years ago, inspiring generations to resist injustice.
Revanth Reddy noted that Telangana’s cultural icons Sammakka, Sarakka and Chakali Ailamma served as the inspiration behind the design of the Telangana Thalli statue.
MPs Porika Balram Naik, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Congress leader Rohin Reddy and others joined the tribute programme.
