HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court has once again postponed the hearing on the quash petition filed by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, which seeks to dismiss a pending criminal case against him. The adjournment was made on technical grounds, with the court stating that a new date for the hearing would be announced soon.
During the proceedings, the petitioner’s counsel argued that the case was politically motivated and lacked substantive evidence, urging the court to quash the charges. The State Government’s counsel informed the court that a detailed counter-affidavit would be submitted and requested additional time to prepare the response.
After hearing both sides, the court decided to defer the case.
The criminal case in question was registered during Revanth Reddy’s tenure as a member of the opposition. With his recent elevation to the position of Chief Minister, the legitimacy and relevance of the case have been challenged in court.
Political analysts have suggested that the case may be part of a larger narrative of political vendetta or strategic pressure. All eyes are now on the court’s next hearing, which will determine whether the Chief Minister will be granted relief or whether the legal battle will continue to unfold.
