Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will hold a crucial meeting today with ministers and legal experts. The discussion will focus on the case challenging 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies. The review comes a day before the High Court hearing on the issue.
Revanth Reddy to review BC quota case and finalise poll strategy
Officials said Revanth Reddy will review the legal arguments for the state’s defence. He will direct ministers and advocates on how to present the government’s position before the court.
The Chief Minister will also brief in-charge ministers and corporation chairpersons on plans for the Jubilee Hills by-election and local body polls. Sources said he aims to finalise the political strategy before the court hearing.
Congress leaders expect clarity on the party’s candidate for the Jubilee Hills by-election after the meeting. Revanth Reddy will consult PCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud and AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan before making a decision.
