Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday reviewed development plans for the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma temple and the Basara Gnana Saraswathi temple. He asked officials to prepare master plans with better facilities for devotees.
Focus on Medaram temple facilities
Officials submitted proposals to the Chief Minister, who stressed that all works at Medaram must finish within 100 days, ahead of the Sammakka-Saralamma jatara. He examined several design options and instructed that all structures be built with natural stone. He further directed officials to include smooth entry and exit points, adequate parking, and other facilities for pilgrims.
In addition, the Chief Minister ordered plans for check dams along the Jampanna vagu to retain water in key stretches. He said he would personally visit Medaram this week for a ground-level review and asked officials to make arrangements.
Expansion plans at Basara temple
At Basara, Revanth Reddy suggested steps for temple expansion and infrastructure upgrades. He emphasized that all projects must respect local traditions. He also urged officials to consult local experts and priests before finalizing the plan.
Ministers and officials attend review
Ministers Konda Surekha, Seethakka, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Adluri Laxman attended the review. Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Srinivas Raju, Endowments Department Principal Secretary Shailaja Ramaiyer, and other senior officials also joined the meeting.
