Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Sunday pledged full government support for BioDesign-driven innovation in medical technology. He made the announcement at the Biodesign Innovation Summit held at AIG Hospital in Hyderabad.

Reddy noted that Hyderabad had evolved from a manufacturing center to a hub for innovation in biotech, pharma, and medtech. He said Telangana would remain a proactive partner in driving healthcare R&D forward.

He pointed out that Hyderabad benefits from strong academic institutions, robust skill-building networks, and active industry partnerships. As a result, the city has developed a globally competitive workforce.

Calling for homegrown solutions to India’s healthcare challenges, Reddy said innovators would gain access to Telangana’s historical medical data. However, he stressed that data sharing would strictly comply with privacy norms. “We will connect innovators to Skill University, academic institutions, corporations, and research centers,” he added.

Furthermore, he congratulated AIG Hospitals Chairman Dr Nageshwar Reddy for promoting BioDesign research. The method, he explained, identifies unmet clinical needs and develops scalable healthcare solutions after clinical validation.

Reddy also said Telangana has emerged as a national leader in life sciences. The state has attracted major investments in diagnostic devices, imaging systems, surgical tools, implants, and digital health technologies.

He reaffirmed Telangana’s economic goals $1 trillion by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047. Additionally, he spotlighted the Medical Devices Park in Sultanpur, calling it India’s largest. Over 60 domestic and global firms are already operational there, supported by cutting-edge infrastructure for testing, research, and manufacturing.

Finally, he praised local startups and MSMEs, stating their contributions make Hyderabad a dynamic innovation ecosystem.
