Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy’s message to departments was blunt—stop making people run around for building permissions. At a review held Wednesday evening at the Secretariat, the Chief Minister pressed officials to fast-track a simpler, single-window system for permits inside Telangana’s Core Urban Region.
This area—basically everything within GHMC and HMDA limits under the Outer Ring Road—has long been a maze. People applying to build homes, shops, anything—they’ve had to knock on multiple department doors, file paperwork all over the place. Revanth Reddy wants that gone.
He told officials to study it top to bottom and come back with a report. The brief? Flatten the permit process.
One platform, one payment system, one portal. That’s what he’s aiming for. Revenue, municipal bodies, fire services, police, electricity, water and sewage—he wants them all linked. No more fragmented approvals. Just a unified window where citizens can apply, pay, and get on with construction.
To support this, Revanth Reddy asked for a LIDAR survey—laser mapping of assets and utilities to understand how things are laid out and plan accordingly. He also advised pulling in domain experts to help design something smoother and more citizen-friendly.
He made another thing clear—departments must stop working in silos. Too many overlaps, too much delay. He wants clear, uniform boundaries for departments to avoid confusion in service delivery.
And no more ghosting applicants. If permissions are held up, officials must explain why and tell people what to do next. Delays without reason won’t fly anymore.
