HYDERABAD: A big land scam has come to light in Guttala Begumpet, Serilingampally mandal of Ranga Reddy district, where revenue officials are alleged to have facilitated the clearance of approximately three acres of land worth ₹200 crore using forged documents.
A construction company lodged a complaint stating that No Objection Certificates (NOCs) were issued based on fabricated documents without proper verification. The land in question falls under Survey Nos. 35/AA/1 and 35/E, which are declared as Urban Land Ceiling (ULC) lands. The company provided evidence suggesting that the NOCs were granted using unregistered sale deeds and other forged documents.
Upon investigation, revenue officials acknowledged the irregularities and reported the matter to the district collector. It was found that mutations were carried out in the names of certain individuals based on unregistered sale deeds dated back to 1997. Further scrutiny revealed that these documents were not valid under the ULC Repeal Act of 1999.
Local residents and activists are demanding a thorough investigation into all ULC NOCs issued since 2016, suspecting widespread misuse of authority and procedural lapses. They urge the authorities to re-examine all related files to prevent further illegal encroachments and protect government land assets.
