HYDERABAD: A grand conference marking the 50-year journey of the Revolutionary Student Movement was held at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Baghlingampally on Thursday. Organized by former student activists, the event honored the movement’s legacy and paid tribute to those who contributed to its cause.
The program commenced with the hoisting of the martyrs’ flag by Som Narasamma, mother of Comrade Puli Anjayya. Following this, Padma Cherukuri, companion of Comrade Azad (Cherukuri Rajkumar), unveiled the martyrs’ memorial, commemorating the sacrifices of student activists.
Attendees, including alumni and leaders from various people’s organizations, paid respects to student martyrs in front of the Sundarayya Vignana Kendram hall. The venue echoed with revolutionary songs and slogans, as participants reaffirmed their commitment to the movement’s principles.
Prominent figures such as Professor Haragopal, Professor Jaganmohan Singh, Professor K. Satyavathi, and Gopinath Sambamurthy addressed the gathering, reflecting on the movement’s history and its impact.
The event provided a platform to revisit the movement’s journey over five decades and reinforce its foundational ideals, fostering discussions on its relevance in contemporary times.
