Telangana eyes Olympics 2036 bid
Revanth Reddy said Telangana aims to become India’s premier sports hub. He emphasized the need for world-class infrastructure and global partnerships to position Hyderabad for the 2036 Olympics.
The board reviewed the draft Telangana 2025 Sports Policy. Key components include grassroots-level promotion, athlete development programs, and international-standard training facilities. Officials said the state wants to align with global practices to create Olympic-ready talent.
The meeting also focused on rebuilding aging stadiums and launching high-tech arenas. One major proposal was to build mini-stadiums in all 56 Assembly constituencies. These would offer local athletes access to coaching and facilities closer to home.
Revanth said the state views sports not only as a prestige tool but also as a way to engage and empower youth. “Telangana is committed to building infrastructure and helping athletes reach excellence,” he stated.
The event marked a significant push to integrate sports into the state’s long-term development agenda one that blends policy, investment, and global ambition.
