HYDERABAD: BRS leader and former IPS officer RS Praveen Kumar has strongly criticized the Congress government in Telangana for its handling of village administration. In a recent social media post, he highlighted several issues plaguing rural areas.
During a visit to Bhatpally village in Kagaznagar Mandal, Sirpur Constituency, Praveen Kumar engaged with local residents who revealed alarming conditions. He noted that in the 15 months of Congress rule, villages have stagnated, lacking elected sarpanches and unpaid sanitation workers. He also pointed out that village panchayats are struggling to afford diesel for their tractors, leading to garbage accumulation on roads and stagnant sewage in drainage canals, causing foul odors throughout the villages.
Praveen Kumar further criticized the state and central governments for halting funds to villages and questioned the government’s clarity on conducting sarpanch elections. Addressing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, he asked whether similar unsanitary conditions prevail near his residence and if the plight of the rural poor matters to him. He concluded by stating that the Congress administration in Telangana is marked by foulness.
