Hyderabad: Former MLA Sampath Kumar lashed out at K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) ahead of his Gadwal visit on Saturday. He asked, “With what face will you come to Gadwal?” His remarks came just hours before several local leaders planned to join the BRS in KTR’s presence.
Sampath Kumar accused KTR of deceiving weavers during his tenure as textiles minister. He said KTR promised a textile park in Gadwal but never delivered. Moreover, he remarked, “The foundation stone site now has only wild plants. He should visit and see the neglect.”

The Congress leader said KTR failed to complete the Thummilla project. He added that KTR inaugurated a 100-bed hospital without proper facilities. Furthermore, he alleged that BRS neglected Gadwal’s municipalities for ten years and denied them funds.
Kumar contrasted this with the Congress government under Revanth Reddy. He said the new government reopened the 100-bed hospital with full facilities. In addition, he pointed out that survey work for Mallamma Gunta began and a Rs 120 crore bridge is under construction at Jurala.
Targeting KTR over comments on defected MLAs, Kumar said, “The day he gave them tickets, did he not know their gender? Now he insults them as male and female.” However, he accused BRS of double standards. He recalled that the party poached five Congress and 15 TDP MLAs when he served as whip. “When they do it, it is family; when we do it, they call it immoral,” he said.
Finally, Kumar declared that KTR has no moral right to set foot in Gadwal.
