Hyderabad: As the urea shortage in Telangana continues, former minister and BRS leader Satyavathi Rathod also experienced the growing crisis firsthand. She queued up on Sunday at a fertiliser centre in Mahabubabad, hoping to secure enough urea for her 5.5-acre farm. Instead, she received just one bag.
Rathod owns farmland in Pedatanda village, Kothaguda mandal. After hearing about fresh stock at the Gundrathi Madugo centre, she arrived early to collect her share. Despite hours of waiting, she walked away with only a single bag.
Frustrated, she asked officials, “How is one bag enough for 5.5 acres?” She urged authorities to improve distribution and ensure fairness for farmers.
Similar scenes have unfolded across the state. Farmers in several districts have stood in lines since midnight, fearing they will miss out due to limited supply. With the crop season underway, the shortage has raised serious concerns about timely cultivation.
