Hyderabad: The long summer break is finally over, and starting Thursday (June 12), schools across the city and surrounding districts will throw open their gates to welcome back thousands of eager students.
For kids, the days of carefree holidays and endless play are giving way to uniforms, backpacks, and the rhythm of school bells. Parents and kids have been crowding local shops all week, picking up everything from notebooks and lunch boxes to brand-new water bottles. The markets have been abuzz with the usual back-to-school hustle.
Meanwhile, at government schools, teachers and staff are putting the final touches on classrooms, brightening them up with decorations to make sure students get a warm and cheerful welcome when they return.
According to the transport department, Hyderabad, Rangareddy, and Medchal districts together have a fleet of 12,842 school buses ready to roll, ensuring students get to class safely. While a handful of international schools have already reopened, the bulk of schools are set to resume on Thursday, with everyone hoping for a smooth start to the new academic year.
