Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) on Friday organised a mass singing event at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava led the event, joined by the additional general manager, senior officers and staff, who all participated in the collective rendition of the national song.
The event marked the beginning of year-long celebrations honouring the 1875 composition by Bankimchandra Chatterjee. Regarded as a powerful symbol of the Indian freedom movement, Vande Mataram remains a source of patriotic pride and national unity.
The Ministry of Railways is conducting a series of events across the country to celebrate the 150th anniversary. The initiative aims to reaffirm cultural identity and foster unity and collective purpose among railway personnel and the broader public.
