Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) posted record revenue of ₹10,143 crore in the first half of FY 2025–26. This broke the previous record of ₹9,966 crore from the same period last year.
From April to September 2025, the zone earned ₹6,635 crore through freight. Passenger services added ₹2,991 crore. Other coaching and miscellaneous sources contributed the remaining income.
SCR also reported its highest-ever freight loading at 71.14 million tonnes (MT). This reflected a 6% rise over last year’s 67 MT. Increased shipments of iron ore, cement, and steel-making materials drove the growth.
Passenger revenue rose 2.8% from ₹2,909 crore in 2024. Vande Bharat trains, special services, and added coaches helped boost the earnings.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava praised the staff. He urged them to sustain the momentum for the rest of the year.
