South Central Railway special trains

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) has announced festive special trains from Hyderabad to several destinations, including Danapur, Berhampur, Shalimar, and Mysuru, to ease passenger travel during Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath Puja. The trains will operate from Charlapalli and Secunderabad stations.

SCR festive special trains Hyderabad schedule

The Charlapalli–Danapur special (07419) will run every Saturday from September 6 to November 29. The return service, Danapur–Charlapalli (07420), will run every Monday from September 8 to December 1.

The Charlapalli–Berhampur train (07027) will operate every Friday between September 5 and November 28, while the Berhampur–Charlapalli (07028) service will run every Saturday from September 6 to November 29.

For Shalimar, train 07225 will depart Charlapalli every Monday from September 1 to October 10. Its return train, Shalimar–Charlapalli (07226), will run every Tuesday from September 2 to October 14.

From Secunderabad, the Mysuru Junction special (07033) will run every Monday and Friday from September 1 to October 31. The return service, Mysuru Junction–Secunderabad (07034), will operate every Tuesday and Saturday between September 2 and November 1.

Railway aims to handle festive demand

SCR stated that these additional services are being introduced to reduce holiday congestion and ensure smooth passenger movement. During the festive season, demand for trains surges significantly as families travel for religious gatherings, cultural festivals, and holiday breaks.

Officials also appealed to passengers to book tickets in advance to avoid last-minute rush and overcrowding. The railway further clarified that timings, halts, and coach compositions would be available on the official SCR website and IRCTC portals.

With the introduction of these services, South Central Railway expects to significantly ease travel pressure in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha, and Bihar routes during the festive period.
