Hyderabad: The second phase of licensed surveyor training began on Monday at 23 district centres across Telangana, according to Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy.
Candidates have been asked to report to their district’s survey department assistant director by 10 a.m. on August 18. Ponguleti, who reviewed the progress of the licensing process on Sunday, confirmed that the services of licensed surveyors would go live statewide by October 2, Gandhi Jayanti.
The move aligns with the Bhu Bharati Act, which requires survey maps at the time of land registration. “We aim to ensure surveyor services are available by Gandhi Jayanti,” Ponguleti said.
In the first round, 7,000 individuals completed 50 working days of training between May 26 and July 26. Practical exams were held on July 28 and 29 under the supervision of JNTU. Successful candidates have now begun 40 days of apprenticeship.
The minister said licenses will be issued upon training completion. He urged officials to develop a survey manual to maintain transparency.
Ponguleti stressed the importance of integrating the survey department with the revenue system. “For a stronger revenue structure, we must empower the survey wing,” he said, noting that the department had seen a decade of neglect.
