HYDERABAD: A man pretending to search for a rental house snatched a gold chain from a woman in Secunderabad’s Maredpally area, taking advantage of a “To Let” sign displayed outside her residence.
The incident occurred when a woman named Balamani had put up a “To Let” board at her house. An unidentified man arrived claiming to be looking for a rental property. After inspecting the house, he suddenly snatched a gold chain weighing approximately six tolas (around 70 grams) from her neck and fled the scene.
Following a complaint from the victim, the police registered a case and began an investigation using CCTV footage. According to officials, the suspect arrived on a motorcycle and later abandoned the vehicle near Jubilee Bus Stand before escaping.
Police are continuing their search based on the CCTV evidence.
