Seethakka calls Kavitha row KCR family drama, questions silence on benami assets

Hyderabad: Telangana Minister Seethakka on Wednesday dismissed BRS MLC K Kavitha’s recent remarks as nothing more than a “family drama within the KCR household.” She said the rift in the former chief minister’s family was being staged to divert attention from corruption in the Kaleshwaram project.

Seethakka calls Kavitha row a KCR family drama

Speaking to reporters, Seethakka asked whether K Chandrashekar Rao, who calls himself the father of Telangana, was now so weak that he could not resolve disputes within his own family. “Has he reached a stage where he cannot even bring four family members together for a discussion?” she asked.

She alleged that once corruption in Kaleshwaram came to light, the family began quarrelling to deflect public attention. “These disputes are nothing but fallout from differences in sharing illegal money and assets,” Seethakka said.

Minister questions silence on Kavitha’s allegations

Referring to Kavitha’s claim that Santosh Rao, through his alleged benami Pochampally Srinivas Reddy, amassed crores of rupees, Seethakka asked why the BRS had remained silent. “This same Srinivas Reddy spent huge sums in Mulugu to defeat me. If Kavitha is right, why is the party not responding on these benami assets?” she questioned.

Seethakka also said Kavitha’s suspension from the party would not have been possible without the support of K T Rama Rao. “First, she targeted KTR. Now she has turned against Harish Rao and Santosh Rao. Even dragging KTR’s name into this is part of a bigger drama,” she remarked.

Warning to BRS women leaders

Cautioning BRS women leaders, Seethakka said they should remain careful in commenting against Kavitha. “Tomorrow, the KCR family may reunite. If you speak harshly now, you will face problems later. Those who criticise Kavitha will ultimately suffer losses,” she warned.
