Hyderabad: In-charge Minister Dansari Anasuya (Seethakka) and Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Tuesday held a comprehensive review of developmental works and welfare programmes in Kamareddy district, warning against delays and urging action on seasonal health threats.
At a review meeting held at the District Collectorate, Seethakka expressed strong displeasure over the slow pace of several key projects despite fund releases six months ago. She warned officials of disciplinary action if timelines were not strictly met. Special emphasis was placed on the completion of drinking water supply projects, including Godavari-based schemes and AMRUT phases, along with improvements in roads, drainage, sanitation, and central lighting systems.
The minister also directed officials to ensure transparency in the Indiramma housing scheme and to prevent irregularities in the free sand distribution process. She announced that new Anganwadi buildings would soon be constructed and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening women and child welfare services.
Addressing public health concerns, Shabbir Ali urged departments to intensify preventive efforts against vector-borne diseases like dengue during the monsoon. He directed medical and municipal teams to sanitise drinking water tanks, unclog drainage systems, and conduct fumigation in vulnerable areas. Health camps must be established immediately where required, he added.
On agriculture, Seethakka assured that seed and fertiliser shortages would be avoided through timely supply and coordination. She called for daily updates on tender status, fund utilisation, and pending bills, insisting that no development activity should stall for administrative reasons.
Later in the day, Seethakka and Shabbir Ali launched the district-level Vana Mahotsavam celebrations at the Telangana Minority Residential Girls’ School in Kamareddy. Alongside Zaheerabad MP Suresh Shetkar, they led a plantation drive and praised the Congress government’s initiative to restore ecological balance through mass greening campaigns.
District Collector Ashish Sangwan, SP Rajesh Chandra, DFO Nikita, and other senior officials participated in the programme.
