Seethakka, Shabbir Ali launch major welfare and development works in Kamareddy

Hyderabad: Telangana Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka and Government Advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Thursday launched a series of welfare and development works across Kamareddy district, accompanied by Zaheerabad MP Suresh Kumar Shetkar.

At Bhiknoor mandal centre, they laid the foundation for a ₹93 lakh shopping complex under the Agricultural Market Committee. They also inaugurated ₹50 lakh worth of toilet and compound wall works at the Kamareddy market.

Input subsidies, cotton bonus, sarees for women launched

Seethakka announced the launch of a ₹9,600 per acre subsidy for vegetable cultivation. She also detailed organic farming training for 125 farmers per mandal. Shabbir Ali said the ‘Rythu Bharosa’ scheme is now delivering ₹12,000 per acre annually in two instalments, along with a ₹500 per quintal bonus for paddy.

The leaders also launched the ‘One Crore Indiramma Sarees’ scheme. Seethakka said it aims to uphold women’s dignity during festivals. Shabbir Ali added that these sarees, unlike previous schemes, are for celebrations, not fieldwork.

Stadium upgrade, Anganwadi jobs, housing, and MGNREGS works announced

Foundation stones were laid for converting Kamareddy’s Indira Gandhi Stadium into an indoor arena with a ₹9 crore budget. They also launched ₹96 lakh works for an old age home, part of a ₹1.53 crore sanctioned project.

Seethakka announced the filling of 15,000 Anganwadi jobs, construction of 3,500 Indiramma houses per constituency, and provision of 200 free electricity units per household. She also highlighted rural infrastructure plans under MGNREGS worth ₹2,750 crore, including cattle sheds, compost pits, roads, and Anganwadi centres.

Leaders stress library development and minority welfare

At the closing ceremony of Telangana’s 58th Library Week, Seethakka and Shabbir Ali distributed student prizes. Seethakka said over 75,000 government jobs had been filled, crediting public libraries. She announced future hiring for Anganwadi workers and emphasised educational access.

Shabbir Ali accused the previous regime of ignoring libraries and promised special funds for their development from his SDF. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to minority welfare, including implementation of 4% reservation.

The leaders also visited mountaineer Malavath Poorna’s family in Pakala village to express condolences after the death of her father.
