HYDERABAD: Minister Seethakka has appealed to the Central Government not to trample upon the rights of tribals, stressing the urgent need to halt Operation Kagar. On Tuesday, representatives of the Bharat Bachao Organization, including Gade Innayya, Dr M F Gopinath, and Janjarla Ramesh Babu, met the Minister at Praja Bhavan in Hyderabad.
During the meeting, the representatives urged Minister Seethakka to intervene and help bring an end to Operation Kagar. They expressed grave concern that thousands of Central forces were patrolling the Karrigutta areas, causing widespread fear and anxiety among the tribal communities. The representatives warned that if Operation Kagar was not immediately halted, there could be significant loss of life.
Responding positively, Minister Seethakka assured the delegation that she, as a daughter of the tribal community, would stand firmly with them. She pointed out that the tribals were living in extreme fear due to Operation Kagar and emphasised that no one should violate their rights.
Minister Seethakka further noted that tribal regions have their own special administrative systems, and governments must act constitutionally to ensure the peaceful lifestyle of these communities remains undisturbed. She demanded that the Centre immediately halt Operation Kagar, keeping the interests of the tribals in mind.
Stressing the need for a peaceful environment, Seethakka called for the Central Government to respond positively to the Maoists’ proposal for peace talks. She asserted that dialogue is the only path to prevent the loss of lives on both sides.
