Seven arrested in Somuru assault case

Hyderabad: Police arrested seven men for attacking Raj Kumar in Somuru village of Madnoor mandal on September 28. Banswada DSP Vithal Reddy said officers produced the accused in court on Friday and secured their remand.

DSP Reddy explained the case during a press meet at Madnoor Police Station. Bichkunda CI Ravikumar and Madnoor SI Vijay Konda also attended. The clash began with a money dispute between Bhim Rao and Raj Kumar, both residents of Somuru. Raj Kumar reportedly abused Bhim Rao, leading to a violent reaction. Bhim Rao’s associates struck Raj Kumar with sticks.

DSP confirms arrests in Somuru assault case

After the attack, Raj Kumar’s relatives informed the police. Officers rushed to the village, inspected the scene, and registered a case. Raj Kumar suffered serious injuries and received treatment at a hospital. He died on October 6 while undergoing care.

Police later arrested Suryakant, Ramannath, Rachappa, Tejarao, Pandit Rao, Hanumanth, and Bhim Rao. They face murder charges under the relevant sections for the Somuru Assault Case. DSP Vithal Reddy said all seven are now in judicial custody.
